International pop superstar Taylor Swift is set to release her 12th studio album this Friday at midnight. Her latest project, titled *The Life of a Showgirl*, has been long anticipated since she announced its forthcoming release on the *New Heights* podcast, hosted by her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Since dating Kelce, Swift has frequently attended Chiefs games to watch the star perform on the field. Now, the sounds of the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer will be providing the soundtrack to the Chiefs’ preparations. According to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the team plans to listen to the new album throughout their Friday practice.
“Oh, yeah, for sure. I’m super excited. I haven’t been able to hear the album yet, but I’m super excited to be able to do that,” Mahomes told radio show *The Drive* on 96.5 FM in Kansas City. “It’ll be blaring all through the Chiefs facility tomorrow. We’ll be supporting Taylor, and she’s putting in so much hard work into this, and I’m excited to hear the album just like everybody else.”
Swift’s last album, *The Tortured Poets Department*, was released in April 2024, shortly after the Chiefs won the franchise’s fourth Super Bowl. However, the season did not go as hoped, as the Chiefs made it to Super Bowl LIX but suffered a heavy loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
This time around, the album release comes in the middle of the NFL season, just as Kansas City is coming off a big win against the Baltimore Ravens. After starting their season 1-2, the Chiefs dropped 37 points on the Ravens’ defense to secure a strong victory.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs are set to travel to Florida this Sunday to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Taylor Swift’s new album fueling their practices, fans will be eager to see if the team can continue their momentum on the road.
