EXCLUSIVE: No Mercy for Menendez Brothers — Lyle and Erik Denied New Trial for Brutally Murdering Both Parents… As the Jailed Convicted Killers Rip Judge’s Decision

**Lyle Menendez Slams Judge’s Decision to Deny New Trial for Menendez Brothers**

Lyle Menendez has fiercely criticized an L.A. judge’s surprising decision to deny a new trial for him and his brother Erik Menendez, who was involved in the same case. Speaking out on Facebook, Lyle, 57, called Superior Court Judge William Ryan’s reasoning “nonsensical” and described the judge’s rationale as deserving “a gold medal in the mental gymnastics category.”

### No New Trial for the Menendez Brothers

Lyle and Erik Menendez have long maintained that they shot and killed their father, José Menendez, and their mother, Kitty Menendez, on August 20, 1989, in the den of their Beverly Hills mansion. The brothers claimed the killings were the result of years of alleged abuse by their father.

Despite these claims, both brothers were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

### New Evidence and Attempts for a Retrial

In 2023, the case took a dramatic turn when Roy Rosselló, a former member of the boy band Menudo, accused the late José Menendez—a record producer—of sexually assaulting him when Rosselló was just 14 years old.

Lyle and Erik argued that this revelation, combined with a 1988 or 1989 note Erik wrote to a cousin, Andy Cano, alleging their father’s abusive behavior, should be sufficient grounds for a new trial. The brothers asserted that this evidence proves their father was a monster and that the killings constituted justified self-defense.

However, District Attorney Nathan Hochman convinced Judge Ryan that this new evidence would not have altered the brothers’ 1996 convictions. As a result, the judge ruled against granting a new trial.

### The Brothers Will Continue to Fight

This ruling marks a second recent disappointment for Lyle, 57, and Erik, 54. Earlier this year, their sentences were reduced from life without parole to 50 years to life. Unfortunately, despite this reduction, a parole board denied their early release citing bad behavior while incarcerated.

The brothers are eligible to seek parole again in 2028.

Following the judge’s decision, Lyle took to Facebook to declare, “The fight continues,” signaling that he and Erik intend to keep pursuing justice.
