When it comes to fashion, Shay Mitchell’s kids aren’t holding back. The Pretty Little Liars alum and mom to Atlas, 6, and Rome, 3, with partner Matte Babel, recently revealed how her daughters keep her humble.
“Even today, Atlas was like, ‘Are you wearing that? Is that the lipstick color?’” Shay exclusively told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes at the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California, on Nov. 8. “I’m like, ‘I love you so much.’”
The Béis founder — who turned heads in a cream blazer, matching maxi skirt, and mauve lipstick at the event — continued, “Being 6 right now, it’s really spicy. It’s really fun and spicy and that’s how I describe it. But it’s awesome.”
Like many parents, Shay is still navigating the challenges of mom guilt. “There’s no such thing as balance,” she noted. “There really isn’t. I feel like the pendulum swings. Sometimes you feel guilty for not being at home because you’re at work, and sometimes when you’re at home, you feel guilty for not being at work. But you have to embrace that.”
Shay also shared a piece of advice that has helped her along the way. “This is our first time living life too, and we have to remember that,” she said. “Even though we’re moms, this is still our first time living life, so you have to do things that still fill up your bucket.”
One of the Velma star’s biggest supporters on her motherhood journey is fellow Pretty Little Liars alum Troian Bellisario. “I definitely hit Troian up a lot at the beginning because I was just like, ‘Whoa, how do you handle two? Like, this is crazy,’” Shay told E! News in May 2024 about her former co-star.
Troian, who shares daughters Aurora, 7, and Elliot, 4, with Patrick J. Adams and is currently pregnant with their third baby, remains someone Shay turns to for support. “Troian is always somebody I’ll go to for sure,” she said.
