Grayson Allen makes Suns-record 10 3-pointers, scores 42 points in 121-98 victory over Pelicans

PHOENIX (AP) — Grayson Allen made a franchise-record 10 three-pointers and scored a career-high 42 points, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 121-98 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.

Allen was 12 for 17 from the field and 10 for 15 from beyond the arc, breaking the record he previously shared after making nine three-pointers on three separate occasions. He was perfect in the third quarter, going 5 for 5 and scoring 17 points during that stretch.

Devin Booker contributed 19 points, while Dillon Brooks added 18 for the Suns, who secured their third straight win. Phoenix has now won five of six games following a 1-4 start and is above .500 for the first time this season with a 6-5 record.

For the Pelicans (2-8), Trey Murphy III led the team with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie Jeremiah Fears and Saddiq Bey each added 15 points. New Orleans has dropped two consecutive games after earning their only two wins of the season.

Phoenix took an early lead, scoring 29-22 after the first quarter. They caught fire in the second quarter, going 9 for 13 from three-point range while outscoring New Orleans 35-19 to take a commanding 64-41 lead. The Suns maintained dominance in the second half, leading by as many as 32 points.

The Suns utilized 14 players in the game, with 13 of them contributing to the scoring.
