Sony has revealed impressive sales figures for its latest release, **Ghost of Yōtei**, during its Q2 2025 earnings call. The game sold over 3.3 million units globally within just one month of its launch, marking it as a major success.
The publicly available earnings presentation describes the sequel to **Ghost of Tsushima** as a “major hit,” highlighting its strong market performance. This announcement follows earlier reports from The Game Business on October 14, 2025, which noted that Ghost of Yōtei had the strongest first-party launch since **Marvel’s Spider-Man 2** in 2023.
When comparing its launch performance, Ghost of Yōtei outpaced other recent titles such as **Helldivers 2**, **Concord**, **Astro Bot**, and **Death Stranding 2: On the Beach**. The latest sales figures also put the game on pace to match its predecessor’s impressive numbers. For reference, **Ghost of Tsushima** sold 5 million units within 118 days of release, holding the record for the best first-party launch at the time. While Ghost of Yōtei is still relatively new, upcoming sales data will provide a clearer comparison between the two games.
Looking ahead, Sony has announced plans for future downloadable content (DLC) titled **Ghost of Yōtei: Legends**, expected to launch sometime in 2026. This multiplayer-focused expansion will mirror the post-launch content of Ghost of Tsushima, featuring two-player story missions and four-player survival matches.
In this new mode, players will choose from four character classes and face off against demonic, giant versions of the Yōtei Six, along with various new enemies that join the fray. This addition aims to enrich the gameplay experience and extend the game’s longevity.
