HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Brad Jackson had a standout performance, rushing for two touchdowns and passing for another, as Texas State secured its first Sun Belt Conference win of the season. The Bobcats handed Southern Miss their first league loss of the year, defeating them 41-14 on Saturday.
Jackson’s two short touchdown runs helped set the tone early in the game. He also connected with Chris Dawn Jr. on a key passing play, contributing to Texas State’s dominant offensive display.
Defensively, Christopher Jones made a significant impact by returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown, further boosting Texas State’s momentum.
With this victory, Texas State improves its conference record, while Southern Miss suffers their first setback within Sun Belt play this season.
