Cecil Ray Boyd passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on January 13, 1952, in Cullman, Alabama, Cecil was a devoted and compassionate individual who lived a life filled with love and generosity.
A lifelong resident of Cullman, Cecil dedicated 55 years to his career as a hairdresser. His clients were more than just customers—they were part of his extended family, and he cherished them dearly. Known for his hard work, honesty, and inspirational spirit, Cecil’s gentle and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Family was at the center of Cecil’s life. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Enika Shalon DuVall (Phillip), and a loving grandfather to Cameron, Anna, Daniel, Ryan, Ella, Alyssa, Emma, Alexxa DuVall, and Tyler Boyd. He was predeceased by his son, Scott Boyd; his father, Willie Fay Boyd; and his brother-in-law, Dale Holmes.
Cecil is survived by his sister, Charlene Lindley (Dewey), as well as his nieces and nephews: Tammy Bates, Dana Rogers (Terry), Jamie Lindley (Jennifer), Kayla Pigg (Andrew), Leah Young (Jason), JJ Holmes, and Celia Ramos (Taylor).
His love for his grandchildren was profound, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Cecil was a patient, resilient, and selfless man whose thoughtful and wise presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Beyond his family and work, Cecil had a passion for flowers and enjoyed spending time surrounded by their beauty. His sense of humor was a defining trait, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
A visitation will be held on February 1, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home, located at 1901 Second Ave. NW, Cullman, AL 35055-5827. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. at the same location.
Cecil Ray Boyd will be lovingly remembered by his pallbearers: Cameron DuVall, Ryan DuVall, Daniel DuVall, Phillip DuVall, Bobby Boyd, and Jeff Boyd.
Cecil leaves behind a legacy of loyalty and devotion. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
