The Ladakh Police chief has identified the environmentalist as the key figure behind the violence that occurred on Wednesday. The unrest resulted in four people losing their lives and many others sustaining injuries.
Following these events, on Friday, Wangchuk was detained under the National Security Act. He has since been sent to a jail located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
