The Indian Railways has launched seven new trains in Bihar as of Monday, aiming to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth across the state. Among these are three Amrit Bharat Express trains that will link Bihar with various locations across India.

All seven new trains will be operated and maintained by the East Central Railway (ECR) zone, strengthening the rail infrastructure in the region.

### Connectivity Boost Within Bihar and Beyond

Out of the seven new services, four trains will operate within Bihar, connecting major cities and towns to facilitate easier travel for daily commuters and travelers within the state. The other three Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed to cover longer routes, connecting Bihar with other states, thereby improving interstate connectivity.

According to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, these new services aim to provide “affordable and convenient travel options for low and middle-income families,” making rail travel more accessible to a broader segment of the population.

### Inaugural Event

The new trains were flagged off from Patna Junction by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. While Vaishnaw gave the symbolic green flag through video conferencing, the event marked a significant development in Bihar’s rail network.

Just the day before the launch, Minister Vaishnaw announced on X (formerly Twitter), “Starting from tomorrow, 3 new Amrit Bharat Express trains will begin operations.” The launch coincides with the period when dates for the Bihar Assembly elections are likely to be finalized, highlighting the government’s focus on improving regional connectivity.
