**Jabalpur High Court Stays Transfer Order of 200 Teachers from Eklavya Residential Schools in Madhya Pradesh**
*Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh):* The Jabalpur High Court has stayed the transfer order affecting 200 teachers posted at Eklavya Residential Schools across Madhya Pradesh. A single bench, presided over by Justice Maninder Singh Bhatti, found the directive to relocate these teachers to Khandwa to be unjustified and has consequently stayed the execution of the order.
The affected teachers were originally posted in various Eklavya Residential Schools in Jabalpur and other districts. The court has arranged to keep them at their current postings pending further orders.
Advocate Sudha Gautam appeared on behalf of the petitioner, Upma Shandilya, who is posted at the Eklavya Residential School in Rampur Chhapar. According to her submissions, an order dated September 23, 2025, was issued transferring the petitioner along with 200 other teachers to Khandwa.
Upma Shandilya was appointed to the Rampur Chhapar Eklavya Residential School in 2024 for a higher position. Subsequently, on November 11, 2024, the Divisional Commissioner of Jabalpur issued a letter stating that there were no vacant positions available in the Eklavya schools. As a result, teachers were asked to submit transfer preferences.
In response, the petitioner submitted transfer options for Eklavya Vidyalayas located in Rampur Chhapar, Ranjhi, and Sadar. However, these preferences were disregarded, and she along with others was ordered to be transferred to Khandwa.
Following these developments, the matter was brought before the High Court. After hearing the arguments, the court deemed the September 23, 2025, transfer order unreasonable and suspended its execution, allowing the teachers to remain in their current postings.
The decision provides temporary relief to the teachers while ensuring that their concerns are addressed fairly. Further proceedings are awaited.
