**Marian Kathryn “Katie” Wacek**

Marian Kathryn “Katie” Wacek of Sandia Park, NM, passed away on September 26, 2025, following a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was 67.
Katie is survived by her beloved husband, Scott Clauch, and her siblings, Helen Gorder and Michael Wacek.
Born in Owatonna, MN, as Marian Judith Wacek to Anton (Tony) and Rose Wacek (née Smith), Katie began her career with a brief stint as a teacher. She then pursued a long career in marketing, first in the Twin Cities and later in New Mexico.
Katie had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed outdoor athletic activities such as hiking, running, and rollerblading until her illness curtailed those activities.
Known for her relentless optimism, even after her cancer diagnosis, Katie was an inspiration to everyone around her.
A celebration of Katie’s life will be held on November 15, 2025, at Vista Grande Community Center at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
