**Mobile Phones Worth Over Rs 25 Lakh Stolen from Ujjain Mobile Shop; Traders Stage Road Blockade**
Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: Mobile phones valued at over Rs 25 lakh were stolen from a mobile shop located under the Kharakuan police station area, triggering outrage among local traders.
The theft took place at Arihant Telecom on Nai Sadak early Friday morning. According to CCTV footage, around half a dozen thieves entered the shop at approximately 4 am and made off with mobile phones worth an estimated Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakh.
The complainant, Ajay Jain, discovered the shop’s shutter open when he arrived at the location and immediately contacted the police. However, by that time, the entire inventory was missing.
Traders in the area expressed their frustration, stating that thefts are frequent but police action has been lacking. This latest incident was followed by another theft, escalating tensions further.
In protest, traders organized a road blockade on Nai Sadak that lasted nearly two hours, demanding prompt police intervention and improved security measures.
CSP Rahul Deshmukh confirmed that technical data related to the theft is currently being analyzed. Authorities are tracking the movements of the criminals and are searching for a suspected auto-rickshaw believed to have been involved in the incident.
Investigations are ongoing as the police work to apprehend those responsible and recover the stolen goods.
