Person shot during altercation on CTA bus in West Garfield Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A person was shot in the eye while riding a CTA bus Wednesday evening on the city’s West Side.

The shooting occurred around 7:56 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Madison Street in West Garfield Park, Chicago police reported.

According to authorities, the victim, a male whose exact age is unknown, was on the CTA bus when he got into a verbal altercation with an unknown offender. The offender then pulled out a handgun and fired shots, grazing the victim in the eye.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is currently in good condition, Chicago Police Department officials said.

No arrests have been made at this time. Chicago police continue to investigate the incident.
