383 Stroker-Powered 1974 Porsche 914 6-Speed

This 1974 Porsche 914 was acquired by the current owner in 2019 and has since been extensively modified to deliver an exceptional driving experience. Central to the build is a powerful 383ci BluePrint Engines Stroker V8, paired with a six-speed manual transaxle sourced from a 2004 Boxster S and fitted with billet shift forks. Supporting the drivetrain, a Kennedy Engineered Products clutch, flywheel, and 240mm pressure plate have been installed, along with heavy-duty rear half shaft axles featuring replacement bearings.

The engine features a Holley 750-cfm double-pumper carburetor, an Edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold, and a 100-amp alternator. Modified Schoenfeld long tube headers feed a 3-inch dual exhaust system finished with 6-inch SuperTrapp mufflers, delivering both performance and a distinctive sound. In the trunk, you’ll find an MSD digital 6AL controller, a blaster ignition coil, and remote Moroso oil and fuel filters. A three-quart Accusump system is present but currently not hooked up.

Exterior modifications enhance both aerodynamics and aesthetics. The car was repainted blue under prior ownership and fitted with a rear wing, an Auto Atlanta fiberglass front bumper, a Drag Specialities fiberglass front air dam, and Pelican fiberglass fender flares. Orange stripe graphics add a striking contrast to the body, which retains its removable targa top and iconic pop-up headlights. Additional touches include tow hooks, an electrical cutoff switch, and rubber decklid latches. The seller notes an area of rust repair at the rear of the passenger side.

The 914 rides on 17-inch Linea Corse wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires sized 235/40 at the front and 315/35 at the rear. Suspension upgrades include Koni front shocks with monoball bushings, QA1 rear coilovers, 22mm Weltmeister sway bars, reinforced control arms, Tangerine Racing shock mounts, turbo tie rods, and adjustable toe and camber settings. The steering has been upgraded with an aftermarket rack for improved response.

Stopping power comes from upgraded disc brakes featuring 930 Turbo rotors and billet aluminum calipers up front, complemented by Porsche Boxster rear calipers and rotors. Front brake cooling hoses have also been added to maintain optimal performance during spirited driving.

Inside the cabin, the driver is surrounded by functionality and motorsport-inspired features. Fixed-back Sparco EVO bucket seats, upholstered in black fabric with tartan wool cushions, are paired with Schroth six-point racing harnesses for safety and comfort. A four-point roll cage provides additional protection, while a Lifeline fire suppression system and a Pro-Lite warning light enhance safety.

The cockpit is equipped with a Boxster S shifter featuring a Räzo shift knob, drilled Wilwood and Rennline pedals, and custom switches for added convenience. A three-spoke Sparco steering wheel frames classic VDO instrumentation, including a central tachometer, 160-mph speedometer, and fuel level gauge, with auxiliary gauges neatly integrated into the dash. The digital odometer shows just 1,500 miles.

Additional notable features include upgraded disc brake components, an aluminum radiator with dual cooling fans, and a comprehensive set of service records and spare parts. The car holds a clean California title in the current owner’s name and is offered for sale by the seller on behalf of the owner.

This custom 1974 Porsche 914 represents a comprehensive blend of classic Porsche styling and modern performance modifications, making it a rare and exciting opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a unique sports car. Additional photos of the undercarriage and detailed build work are provided below.
