Charley Hull dons a black outfit as she attempts a “30-yard bunker shot”

Charley Hull was recently spotted sharpening her short-game skills while practicing a tricky bunker shot. The English golfer shared a clip on her Instagram story showcasing a 30-yard mini draw from a sand trap. In the video, posted on Wednesday, December 29, Hull wore a black beanie with a white pom-pom, a black zip-up jacket, matching black trousers, and white golf shoes. She captioned the clip: “30 yard mini draw bunker shot round the tree branches today 🧊.”

Hull has been active both on and off the course in recent weeks. Earlier, she played a key role in helping the World Team defeat Japan in the third-place match at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. She dominated her singles match against Ayaka Furue, winning 4 and 3, and finished the week with an impressive 3-1-1 record.

The 29-year-old was also seen a day earlier at the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland, where she enjoyed playing and spending time at the resort. Sharing a post from her visit, she wrote:
“A mix of moments. Trump Aberdeen was breathtaking. ⛳️ 🥘 🔥 😍💥.”

### A Comeback After a Short Break

Charley Hull made her comeback at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown after taking a brief break from competition. The 2025 season has been one of her best yet, marked by consistent performances and her third career LPGA Tour win at the Kroger Queen City Championship. However, the year hasn’t been without challenges, as injuries forced her to withdraw from certain events.

### Injury Update: Ankle and Back Issues

Hull recently gave a candid update on the injuries that have disrupted her fitness routine and time on the course. She revealed that ankle and back problems have prevented her from training as usual.

“I can’t do anything (at the gym) at the minute at all because of my ankle and my back. I’m going to be out a few months, but I quite like the rest. I’m eating healthy. Because I haven’t been to the gym, I’m 10 kilos (22 pounds) lighter than I was at this time last year,” Hull told Golfweek.

She explained that the issues began when she tore a ligament in her ankle after tripping over a curb before the PIF London Championship last August. Shortly after, she also suffered a back muscle tear from lifting a heavy box. These injuries have been compounded by spinal scoliosis and cysts, which continue to cause discomfort.

“Yesterday, my back was really bad but today it’s been fine. It could be the way I walk, the way I sit, anything,” Hull shared. “I’ve got spinal scoliosis. I’ve got a bend in my back that we didn’t know about.”

During the interview, Hull showed her scans and pointed out the cysts causing her pain. Despite these setbacks, she remains positive and is balancing her recovery with her Tour schedule, demonstrating resilience and determination as she works toward full fitness.
