“Knows He’s Getting Fired”: Mavericks Fans React to Nico Harrison’s ‘Nonchalant’ Move After Anthony Davis’ Achilles Injury Exit

The Mavericks fans’ worst fears came to fruition on Wednesday after Anthony Davis exited the game against the Pacers with a potentially concerning injury. Davis entered the contest as probable, citing bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. In the first half, he left for the locker room after limping off to the sidelines, grabbing his left heel.

As that happened, Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison, who was at the game, left for the tunnel after Davis came off the floor. Most eyes at the arena and on TV screens were on the executive, who continues to be scrutinized for trading Luka Doncic in February. Reports suggested the Mavericks dealt Doncic due to his conditioning issues. Meanwhile, Harrison insinuated that Doncic didn’t fit his philosophy that defense wins championships, which led him to favor Davis as the Slovenian’s trade partner.

With most of Davis’ Dallas tenure overshadowed by injuries, criticism against Harrison has grown. After he “nonchalantly left for the tunnel” following Davis’ injury, Mavericks fans ridiculed him on X. Here’s how they reacted:

### Dallas Mavericks Label Anthony Davis’ Injury as “Lower Leg Soreness”

The Mavericks’ latest injury update for Davis stated that he has “lower leg” soreness. The 10-time All-Star, who initially came into the game with an Achilles tendinopathy issue, may not have aggravated the same injury, according to the Mavericks’ report.

The lower leg region connects the knee and the ankle, while the Achilles connects the calf and the heel tendon. Sports doctor Evan Jeffries also ruled out concerns of a potential Achilles tear.

The injury occurred after Anthony Davis landed hard on his feet following a shot attempt over Tony Bradley. He initially complained about a foul as Bradley slapped his arm, but while running back on defense, Davis instantly felt the discomfort and asked the Mavericks coaches to sub him out. He spent time at the scorer’s table before heading to the locker room.

This is a massive blow for the Mavericks, who are already without Kyrie Irving for the foreseeable future. Anthony Davis was their best player thus far, averaging 25.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks in four games before Wednesday’s clash against Indiana.
