President Trump Outlines Stakes in Next Week SCOTUS Tariff Case

President Trump recently emphasized the critical importance of a Supreme Court case concerning presidential authority over tariffs. At the heart of the argument is the “trillions at stake” aspect that has been discussed extensively over the past decade.

If the institutions of our government truly aim to sideline President Trump and weaken the American middle class, the Supreme Court may side with multinational corporations and Wall Street by removing presidential tariff authority. Without the power to impose tariffs, the United States would face a major disadvantage compared to other countries, especially the world’s major economies. In a real sense, we would be defenseless.

During the nine months I have had the honor to serve as President, tariffs have contributed to great wealth and bolstered national security. The stock market has reached all-time highs multiple times under my administration, with virtually no inflation, and our national security remains second to none.

Our recent successful negotiations with China and many other countries have placed us in a strong position precisely because we had tariffs as leverage to negotiate fair and sustainable deals. If a president cannot quickly and effectively use the power of tariffs, our nation could be left vulnerable—potentially leading to its ruination.

The only opposition we face comes from foreign countries that have taken advantage of us for years, those who harbor animosity toward our country, and the Democrats, primarily because our numbers and results are overwhelmingly positive.

I will not be attending the Supreme Court hearing on Wednesday, as I do not want to distract from the significance of this decision. In my opinion, this will be one of the most important and consequential rulings the United States Supreme Court has ever made.

If we win, we will become the richest and most secure country in the world—by far. If we lose, our nation could be reduced to near third-world status. Pray to God that this does not happen.
