SNAP Update: White House ‘Complying’ With Court Order, Addresses Trump Post

**White House Complies With Court Order to Pay November SNAP Benefits Amid Government Shutdown**

The White House has announced it is complying with a court order requiring the Trump administration to provide Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for the month of November. SNAP, which provides essential food assistance to approximately 42 million Americans, has been disrupted during the ongoing government shutdown due to a lack of regular appropriations.

In October, the federal government stated that SNAP benefits would not be paid on time and that it would not use Agriculture Department contingency funds to bridge the gap. Officials cited that these reserve funds were intended for other emergencies, such as natural disasters.

However, federal judges in Rhode Island and Boston ruled last Friday that the government must continue funding SNAP, at least partially, during the shutdown using emergency resources.

Speaking from the White House on Tuesday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the administration’s compliance:
> “The administration is fully complying with that court order. I just spoke to the president about it.”

Leavitt also addressed a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump earlier in the day. In his post, Trump said SNAP benefits “will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government,” referencing the use of contingency funds.

> “We are digging into a contingency fund that is supposed to be for emergencies, catastrophes, for war,” Leavitt explained. “And the president does not want to have to tap into this fund in the future, and that’s what he was referring to in his Truth Social post.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
