Kia’s EV lineup in the United States is now offering “customer cash” incentives of up to $10,000 per model. These discounts apply to the Kia EV6, EV9, and Niro EV, making electric vehicles from Kia more affordable for buyers.
While Kia’s corporate cousin Hyundai has already reduced prices on some 2026 model-year EVs, it remains unclear if Kia will follow suit with similar price adjustments.
We have consistently praised Kia’s electric vehicle lineup. In fact, the EV9 three-row SUV was one of our Breakthrough Awards contenders last year, and I personally own an EV6. However, like many automakers, Kia is now facing a dip in electric vehicle sales after the federal EV tax credit—which previously offered up to $7,500 off—expired.
Without this tax credit, Kia is stepping up by offering substantial discounts of up to $10,000 on its trio of all-electric models in the U.S. Customers can search these offers by ZIP code on Kia’s website.
### Kia EV6: Up to $10,000 Off
The U.S.-built Kia EV6 qualifies for a $10,000 “customer cash” bonus when purchased. Kia does not specify which trim levels qualify, so theoretically, you could purchase the EV6 Light Long-Range AWD model with 295 miles of range for a starting price of around $40,300.
If you prefer a single electric motor, the Light RWD models are even more affordable, falling into the mid- to low-$30,000 range. Considering the EV6’s technology, performance, fast-charging capabilities, excellent range, and the new Tesla-style North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug, this is a tremendous bargain for an electric vehicle.
### Kia EV9: Big SUV, Big Savings
The large, all-electric EV9 SUV received a $2,000 price cut for the 2026 model year and now qualifies for an additional $10,000 customer cash discount. This means you can get into an EV9 for as low as the mid-$40,000 range. For a well-equipped trim like the Wind AWD, prices start in the low $50,000s.
With up to 283 miles of range, a NACS plug, three rows of seats, and an impressive suite of technology and luxury features, the EV9 offers excellent value for those seeking a spacious electric SUV.
### Kia Niro EV: Affordable and Practical
Although the Kia EV4 will not be coming to America and the newer EV3 remains unavailable, the Niro EV fills this gap. It offers 253 miles of range—adequate for many buyers—and with the $10,000 customer cash incentive, the starting price drops to under $30,000.
### Hyundai’s Competitive Position
Hyundai, Kia’s corporate cousin, has also announced pricing adjustments, especially for the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is a sibling to the EV6. The Ioniq 5 is now $9,800 cheaper, with base models starting as low as $35,000. This could make it one of the best new EV deals available in America.
It is still uncertain whether Kia will adjust prices similarly across its 2025 model-year EVs, but it will be worth watching for updates.
### What This Means for Car Buyers
Many automakers have invested heavily in electric vehicles and, even when facing short-term sales downturns, they are unlikely to abandon these investments. Instead, they are playing the long game.
By making the Kia EV6, EV9, and Niro EV more affordable through these customer cash incentives, Kia is positioning itself well for future growth. And the biggest winner here is the car shopper, who benefits from lower prices and greater access to quality electric vehicles.
