‘SNL’ recap: Best moments from Glenn Powell hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’

“Saturday Night Live” returned to the air for the sixth episode of its 51st season on Saturday, November [date].

Glenn Powell’s appearance was ostensibly tied to his lead role in this week’s new movie, *The Running Man* — a second adaptation of Stephen King’s short story of the same name. However, Powell was actually originally scheduled to host back in 2021 during the height of his success with *Top Gun: Maverick*, but COVID-19-related issues unfortunately scuttled those plans.

Throughout the show, Powell proved to be a game and engaging performer, bringing energy and charisma to every segment. Yet, the night’s true highlight was the return of former cast member Will Forte and his recurring character MacGruber. This character is a comedic riff on the classic TV series *MacGyver* and was later adapted into an underrated 2010 film as well as a 2021 streaming series on Peacock.

In one memorable sketch, MacGruber offers a perfectly reasonable explanation for why his name appears in the Epstein Files—definitely worth hearing out!

**Episode Highlights:**

– *Cold Open* featuring Glenn Powell
– *Monologue* by Glenn Powell
– Musical Performances by Olivia Dean
– Some of the Best “SNL” Sketches, including the MacGruber comeback

Stay tuned for more exciting episodes as “Saturday Night Live” continues its milestone 51st season.
