‘Dancing with the Stars’ sees surprise elimination during semifinals dedicated to Prince’s music

LOS ANGELES — Things went crazy in the ballroom this week, with a semifinal round filled with music, dance and “purple” in tribute to Prince on week 10 of “Dancing with the Stars.” The night ended with a shocking elimination of one of the show’s most consistent, high-scoring couples. What dances were performed on Prince Night on “Dancing With The Stars” and how were they scored? Each of the remaining six couples performed twice to some of Prince’s most iconic hits: Social media personality Alix Earle and partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed an Argentine Tango to “Little Red Corvette” and a Viennese Waltz to “Purple Rain.” Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and partner Witney Carson performed a Jive to “Baby I’m a Star” and a Viennese Waltz to “WOW.” From “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” Whitney Leavitt and partner Mark Ballas performed a Cha Cha to “1999” and a Viennese Waltz to “Slow Love.” Reality TV star and content creator Dylan Efron and partner Daniella Karagach performed a Tango to “I Would Die 4 U” and a Cha Cha to “Kiss.” Film and TV actress Elaine Hendrix and partner Alan Bersten performed a Foxtrot to “I Wanna Be Your Lover” and a Paso Doble to “When Doves Cry.” Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and partner Ezra Sosa performed a Jive to “Raspberry Beret” and an Argentine Tango to “U Got the Look.” After combining the scores of both dances, the judge’s scoreboard looked like this: Robert Irwin and Witney Carson 59 out of 60 Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy- 58 out of 60 Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas 58 out of 60 Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten 57 out of 60 Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa 57 our of 60 Dylan Eftron and Daniella Karagach 55 out of 60 Who was sent home in the semifinals of Dancing with the Stars Season 34? We all know it’s not just up to the judges! After combining the viewer votes for this round, we saw a surprising elimination. Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas were sent home. Next week, it’s the Season 34 finale, and we’ll see a full three hours of dancing before we learn who will take home the coveted Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy. “Dancing with the Stars” airs Tuesdays on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
