Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid is opening up candidly about her divorce from Tommy Feight. As viewers of the new spinoff, *The Valley: Persian Style*, watch the unraveling of her marriage, Javid is sharing with her fans where things currently stand with her ex and what ultimately became the breaking point in their relationship.
Javid filed for divorce from Feight in October 2025. The couple had been married for seven years and share a 6-year-old son named Shams.
During a recent appearance on *Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen*, Javid reflected on their separation. She shared, “Tommy and I are in a really good place. We talk every day, of course, and I mean multiple times.” She added, “I think the quality of our relationship is more authentic. That was the year of the snake, and now it’s the year of the horse, and so we shed what didn’t make sense about the relationship.”
Javid also told host Andy Cohen that co-parenting is going “really well,” with both making their son Shams their top priority.
When asked if there was a specific moment or incident that made her realize the marriage was over, Javid didn’t hold back. “I felt like on the 4th of July, I might have hit my last straw,” she revealed, noting that by then, the couple had finished filming the show. “I’ve lived in a lot of disappointment and heartbreak over the years,” she continued. “And I think it stopped making sense.”
Cohen then asked if her sometimes tense relationship with her mother, Vida, had an impact on the marriage. Javid admitted she was sometimes on edge when her mom was around because “she’s so hypercritical of me,” but ultimately stated that Vida could not be blamed for the failed marriage.
Regarding an incident shown in an episode of *The Valley: Persian Style*, Javid addressed Feight’s use of inappropriate language around their child. She emphasized that this was not a factor in their divorce, calling it “superficial and correctable.”
Javid and Feight tied the knot in April 2018 and welcomed their son Shams one year later, in April 2019. They first met on Tinder and got engaged in 2015 after dating for over a year.
When asked if she misses anything about her relationship with Feight, Javid admitted she still loves him and misses “everything, but maybe who he was in the beginning.”
