Sens. Jeff Tate, Tyler McCaughn, and Rep. Billy Adam Calvert on Thursday led the presentation of Senate Resolution 25 to the Lamar School Raiders Football Team and Head Coach Jacob Land. The resolution honored the team for winning the MAIS 4A Division III State Championship by defeating Brookhaven Academy 34-17 on November 22.
This victory marked the Meridian team’s seventh state championship and their first title since 2018.
