A 55-year-old man, Navasu Phuphane, was beaten to death in Palghar’s Mokhada taluka after he objected to three men poisoning the Vaitarna river to kill fish. The accused—Jitendra Patil, Ritesh Patil, and Pramod Warghade—allegedly tied, dragged, and assaulted him. Police arrested all three within 12 hours of the incident.
