In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, a tragic incident unfolded when three individuals allegedly beat a 55-year-old man to death after he objected to their act of throwing a poisonous substance into a river. The police reported the incident on Wednesday.

**Details of the Incident**

The incident occurred on Monday in Saturli village, Mokhada taluka. The victim, Navasu Ladkya Phuphane, raised his objection against three men who were throwing a poisonous substance into the Vaitarna river with the intent to kill fish.

The accused have been identified as Jitendra alias Jitu Jayram Patil (31), Ritesh alias Gudda Tukaram Patil (23), and Pramod alias Panya Chintaman Warghade (25), all residents of Saturli village.

According to Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh, the three men confronted Mr. Phuphane and his son. “They abused and attacked the victim and his son with wooden sticks. Subsequently, they tied the victim with a rope, dragged him to the village, and continued to assault him until he succumbed to his injuries,” the officer explained.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s son, a murder case along with related offences was registered at Mokhada Police Station immediately.

Multiple police teams were deployed to investigate and apprehend the accused. The police successfully tracked down and arrested the three men within 12 hours of the incident.
