MANILA, Philippines — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its growth forecasts for the Philippines, joining other multilateral lenders in tempering expectations for the country’s economy. This revision comes amid concerns that higher US tariffs may negatively impact exports and investments.
Following its annual staff visit, the Washington-based institution now projects the Philippine economy to expand by 5.4 percent this year.
