Holkar Science College Leads Madhya Pradesh Government Colleges in Campus Placements
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Holkar Science College has emerged as a leading government college in Madhya Pradesh for campus recruitment, recording an impressive 1,514 student placements across the 2021–2025 period. This averages to approximately 303 placements per year, showcasing the college’s strong industry connections and student employability.
According to the official placement report, several reputed companies such as Sun Pharma, Cipla, Lupin, TCS, HCL, Symbiotech, Endo Pharma, and Aditya Birla Chemicals visited the campus, offering a wide array of opportunities to hundreds of students.
During the 2024–25 academic session alone, 12 well-known companies conducted recruitment drives, offering annual packages ranging from Rs 2.8 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh, with some offers reaching up to Rs 4 lakh.
Challenges in Student Participation
Dr. Sanjay Vyas, head of the placement cell, emphasised that while the number of opportunities is on the rise, student participation remains a significant challenge. “We conduct lectures on CV writing, communication skills, and personality development. Yet, when training sessions are arranged, only 10–15 students attend,” he said. “Companies can be brought to campus, but it is ultimately up to the students to clear the interviews themselves.”
Addressing misconceptions about placement availability, Dr. Vyas stated, “In five years, the college has consistently hosted around a dozen companies annually. Even premier institutions record similar numbers. The notion that placements don’t happen here is a misconception.”
Sectoral Trends and Growing Demand
Highlighting sectoral trends, Dr. Vyas pointed out the booming demand in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors post-COVID-19. “Pharma industries earned profits equivalent to 25 years within just three years. Today, they require bulk hiring of graduates in Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology,” he explained. “Similarly, fields such as AI, Computer Science, and Electronics continue to offer abundant job opportunities.”
Holkar Science College continues to position itself as a vital bridge between industry needs and academic potential, achieving one of the highest placement records among government colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
