**Stephen Curry Responds to Steve Kerr’s 0-12 Take After Warriors’ Loss to Giannis-Less Bucks**
Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry addressed head coach Steve Kerr’s stark 0-12 record comment following Thursday’s 120-110 loss to a Milwaukee Bucks team missing their star, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Despite the absence of their leading scorer, the Bucks showcased remarkable depth and sharpshooting. Eight Milwaukee players scored in double figures, with each draining at least one three-pointer. The Bucks finished the night shooting an impressive 19-for-46 from beyond the arc.
After the game, Kerr shared a blunt assessment of the Warriors’ performance against teams playing without their top stars. According to Kerr, the Warriors have now gone 0-12 in such matchups over the past couple of years.
In response, Curry addressed Kerr’s candid comment during the locker room session, as reported by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
“For us to mention it and him to talk about it is a coach’s worst nightmare, but it’s not like they didn’t play a hell of a game,” Curry said. “We had a lot of slip-ups and turnovers, but we showed some fight. Enough to, three or four times, crawl back in, get a lead, and then they hit two threes. Get it to two, and then they hit two threes. Just didn’t do enough to get over the hump.”
Leading the Bucks was Ryan Rollins, who scored a game-high 32 points, including five three-pointers, alongside eight assists and three rebounds. Myles Turner contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a block. Cole Anthony led the bench with 16 points, while Gary Trent Jr. added 13 points and four steals, and Bobby Portis chipped in 12 points.
On the Warriors’ side, Curry scored 27 points, Jonathan Kuminga added 24, and Jimmy Butler contributed 23. The trio combined for 74 points and went 7-for-16 from three-point range but were unable to disrupt Milwaukee’s offensive rhythm during the crucial moments down the stretch.
**Steve Kerr’s Painfully Honest Take**
Following the defeat, Kerr admitted that losing to teams missing their stars has been a recurring issue for the Warriors.
“When Antetokounmpo was a late scratch, we obviously had to adjust our game plan,” Kerr said, as noted by Anthony Slater. “We’re like 0-12 the last couple years when opponents sit their stars.”
Looking ahead, the Warriors will aim to bounce back quickly when they face the Indiana Pacers this Saturday.
