A major angle is set to kick off this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Tonight’s show will air live from the Delta Center in Utah and marks the final broadcast before Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tiffany Stratton is the reigning WWE Women’s Champion and will be defending her title at Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow night. Jade Cargill is set to challenge Stratton for the championship following her shocking attack on the champion last week on SmackDown.
According to a new report from PWInsider, the former AEW star and Tiffany Stratton are scheduled to open tonight’s SmackDown, hyping their highly anticipated title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Last week, Stratton defeated Kiana James in a hard-fought match on SmackDown. However, the celebration was cut short when Women’s United States Champion Giulia attacked Stratton. Cargill rushed to the ring seemingly to make the save, but then shockingly turned heel by unleashing a brutal attack on Stratton.

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently commented on Cargill’s surprise attack during an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s BroDown show. Russo labeled the heel turn as unnecessary and expressed frustration with the current creative direction.
He stated, “Look at this sh*t. What do you guys want me and Mac to talk about for an hour? This show is one big fight. That’s all it is. That guy is attacking this guy, this guy is attacking that guy. We’re gonna turn Jade Cargill heel for no reason. We’re gonna do the Naomi-Jade Cargill storyline with Fatu. I swear to God, Triple H, Paul Heyman, Prichard, Hayes, whoever the hell is involved should drop to their knees and thank God for AI. Thank God for AI because literally AI is the only thing that can save their jobs. That’s the only thing that can save their jobs.”
