**Did Maurene Comey Try to Set Up Trump? New Revelations Emerge from the Jeffrey Epstein Trafficking Case**
The Jeffrey Epstein trafficking ring continues to unveil shocking revelations in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Recently, claims have surfaced suggesting that federal prosecutors allegedly offered Epstein a deal to “walk free” if he agreed to implicate former President Donald J. Trump in his crimes, according to Epstein’s late ex-cellmate.
The New York Post reported that after Epstein’s arrest on child sex-trafficking charges in July 2019, he was transferred to the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. There, he shared a cell with ex-cop Nicholas Tartaglione, who was awaiting trial before ultimately being convicted on a quadruple-murder charge.
Tartaglione, now 57, asserts that Epstein told him prosecutors proposed a deal: if Epstein said President Trump was involved in Epstein’s crimes, he would be allowed to walk free. This claim was made in a pardon petition filed by Tartaglione.
According to the filing, Epstein told Tartaglione that Maurene Comey, the lead prosecutor at the time, told him he wouldn’t need to prove anything as long as Trump’s team couldn’t disprove the allegations. The petition quotes Comey as saying, “The FBI were her people, not his [President Trump’s].”
The judicial filings do not clarify which specific Epstein crimes Trump was supposed to be implicated in.
Maurene Comey, who served as lead prosecutor in Tartaglione’s case, was fired by the Department of Justice in July. Attempts to contact her for comment have been unsuccessful, and the DOJ did not respond to requests for comment.
In his petition, Tartaglione also states that Epstein told him that Trump “was not involved in Epstein’s crimes.”
As the Epstein saga continues to unfold, these revelations add another complex layer to the ongoing investigation. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
