North Carolina Central wins 88-77 over Coppin State

BALTIMORE (AP) — Jae Slack scored 18 points as North Carolina Central defeated Coppin State 88-77 on Saturday night. Slack also contributed five rebounds for the Eagles, who improved to 6-11 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Gage Lattimore added 16 points on 4-for-10 shooting, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc, and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. Tekao Carpenter chipped in 14 points, going 5 for 7 from the field and 4 for 5 from three-point range.

Jamari Piercy led Coppin State with 19 points and two steals, while Khali Horton added 15 points and four assists. Torrin Andrews and Hussain Williams each scored 13 points for the Eagles, who fell to 3-16 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
